700 Vampires Converge at Legoland California – Spooky Teeth!

Published on: October 13, 2012

CARLSBAD, CALIF. — It’s Halloween time at Legoland California where the the Carlsbad family theme park set out to best its very own record for number of vampires coming together at one event. 2012 vampire turnout was lighter than 2011 but still 700 blood-thirsty creatures came to celebrate an attempt to try to beat the 2011 Guinness world record in which 1,039 showed up.

The world record attempt is part of a Brick-or-Treat annual Halloween celebration with kids’ entertainment and a 10-foot-tall model of Lord Vampyre created out of 150,000 LEGO bricks that guests built the previous weekend.  On weekends before Halloween (October 31) guests can enjoy LEGOLAND California’s Brick-or-Treat celebration which is geared for children 12 and under. Highlights include Brick-or-Treat Party Nights every Saturday in October from 5 – 9 p.m. Brick-or-Treat trails,  a bonus treat station at SEA LIFE Aquarium, costume contests, festive music, entertainment, an animated light show and fireworks cap off the night at 9 p.m. See legoland.com or call (760) 918-LEGO.

Legoland California soon will open a resort hotel with themed accommodations right on the grounds, as well. Many special events throughout the year at the park include a spectacular Christmas tree lighting ceremony and New Year’s Party that ends well before the clock strikes midnight.
