Adventure Playgrounds

They say that if you try to open an Adventure Playground today it will never happen because of all the liability issues. City kids need dirt-play and opportunities to use hammers & nails to build things. There are only two Adventure Playgrounds in California currently operating. One is in Berkeley and the other is in Huntington Beach. Irvine used to have one and citizens are trying to get it back after the city closed it years ago. Some question if they can accomplish the task as they face all sorts of challenges in building a cost-effective playground to include a safe environment while still offering challenges. If you wonder what happens to children who grow up never getting a chance to play in the mud, they call it Mud Crazy.
