What kind of keepsake picture would best commemorate your 50th birthday? In Norco, Horsetown U.S.A., they took a photo of townsfolk on their horses, of course! Norco loves horses. While there are some special events in 2014 to celebrate half a century as a city, the signature event on Labor Day Weekend, Norco Fair, is the most anticipated. Complete with a parade, beauty queen, lawn mower contests and famous Polly’s Pies, the highlight is the old-fashioned Ranch Rodeo, an event first established in 1882 by William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill). Buffalo Bill incorporated trick riding and a number of other entertaining additions to the rodeo that involved ranch- versus- ranch contests unlike contemporary rodeos focusing on individual cowboys and their feats.
