SLOUGHHOUSE, CALIF. — If you’ve been to a county fair this year you’ll know that the food vendors better stock up with a good supply of corn. Roasted corn with butter and salt is one of the top treats that people like to eat. There’s more corny news: this weekend the Davis Ranch Corn Festival offers opportunities to taste their first corn crop of the season and for corn aficionados this is great! The real way to eat corn on the cob is within an hour of picking when it is at its best–fresh, tender and sweet. Davis Ranch is 30 minutes east of Sacramento, and about 15 minutes south of Folsom. Southern Californians who can’t make the drive can wait and give another corn festival a try: La Habra Corn Festival takes place August 7-9, 2015.
