California Hotel Updates 2015

Hotels and resorts in California are in the renovate, rename, renew and build mode in 2015. PHOTOS TOP LEFT CLOCKWISE:

  • St. Regis Monarch Beach spent $30 million renovating 400 guest rooms for understated luxury.
  • Great Wolf Lodge Southern California water resort is opening in Garden Grove in 2016.
  • Homewood Suites by Hilton Agoura Hills completed a renovation of the lobby, 126 guest rooms, business center, fitness room and meeting space
  • La Casa del Zorro in Borrego Springs goes green, getting a $150,000 solar farm for amenities such as the lap swimming pool. Casitas are being upgraded, too.
  • Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara is spending $15 million to enhance guest rooms and suites with new interiors, Spanish Colonial architecture and amenities.
  • Fairmont San Francisco landmark atop Nob Hill recently renovated five Specialty Suites in a $2 million update.
  • Hotel Truckee-Tahoe completed a $2.5 million remodel of its 100 rooms and now features a heated pool and 24-person hot tub.
  • Mama Shelter Los Angeles in Hollywood opens with 70 modern rooms, luxury bedding, illuminated head-boards, complimentary VOD, Wi-Fi, 27′ iMac and  photobooth.
  • MIDDLE PHOTO: The Ranch at Laguna Beach (formerly Aliso Viejo Hotel & Resort) is re-opening as  “an authentic coastal ranch chic resort sanctuary” with 97 rooms, Sycamore Spa, a nine-hole golf course and Harvest Restaurant.
