In addition to zest, this weekend is filled with the key word: FEST.  The festivals are so varied and colorful that you are in for not one, but many, many treats! We’ve unearthed more than 100 festival events to see.

  • HALLOWEEN – 30+themed celebrations include Pumpkins in Pools, Scarecrows in Parks, Pumpkin Festivals, Haunted Ships, Flashlight Tours, Haunted Houses, Theme Park Mazes, and Costume Parades (including pets).
  • TASTE  – California continues to be the #1 grower of foods in the US. TASTE events this weekend include TASTE OF: North Park (San Diego), The Valley (Selma), of Mexico (Los Angeles), of Soul (Los Angeles), of Coronado.
  • HARVEST – Focused on farm fresh experiences, guests interact with farmers, view working farms and / or dine on locally sourced foods and meet the chefs at Harvest Festivals in Forest City (apples), Capay (pumpkins), McCloud (apples), Paso Robles (wine), San Diego (pumpkins), Springville (apples), Cherry Valley (olives & wine), San Benitor (olives), Quincy (mountain harvest), Greenfield (harvest), and Newcastle (harvest).
  • DRINKWine & Beer are the two most popular beverages this season.
  • CELEBRATE!  – October festivals are diverse, celebrating Diwali (Cupertino), Roses (Healdsburg), Antique Tractors (Vista), Film (Mill Valley, Stanford, Hollywood), Cars (Anaheim, Buena Park and Sacramento), Music (Oakland, Stockton, Berkeley, San Francisco and Fullerton).
