California’s Brazilian Carnival

There’s no containing your enthusiasm when San Diego Brazil Carnival comes to town on Feb. 5, 2016 at the Fuse Nightclub! In Brazil, though some carnivals were cancelled this year as the country suffers its worst economic downturn since the 1930s, Rio de Janeiro Carnival is a go, providing an experience akin to The Rose Parade on steroids. You can sample that flavor — fantastic costumes and the Samba’s pulsating rhythms originating in the Afro-Brazilian slums of Rio — several mainstays of the San Diego festival filled with music, dance and libations.
