If you have the impression that the whole world's a carnival, nowhere is that more true than San Diego, California! The city closes down the streets of Gaslamp Quarter for a mega Mardi Gras carnival celebration on Tuesday, March 21, 2012  that the public is invited to, but then there's another event going on produced in Brazilian style. The 19th annual Brazilian Carnival Mardi Gras Ball at Showcase Theater on Saturday, March 5 includes Brazilian singers / performers, and costumed dancers presented in the style seen in Brazil each year.

In 2011 "In Loving Memory of Steve "Baiano" Spencer, the event honored the founder of San Diego Brazil Carnival who no longer lives in life, but is remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him and his passion for "Brazil".
