REAL California Milk did something special this year. They built a Rose Parade float using flowers grown solely in the California. “Legacy of Generations” (shown in photos) is one of only four floats in the 2017 parade using solely California-grown flowers, according to California Cut Flowers Commission. The others included Miracle-Gro, FTD and Cal Poly Universities, which used donated flowers from Sun Valley Floral Farms for “A New Leaf”. 300 tulips and 500 lilies grown in Arcata and 16,000 green ball dianthus and 500 irises grown at their farm in Oxnard created a spectacular display.

Miracle-Gro’s vice president said its float, “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” offered a fitting tribute to California’s farmers who supplied all the beautiful roses for the company’s magnificent Rose Parade entry.

In 2012 Kit-Cat Clocks (always Made in the USA,) sounded an alarm when there were no U.S.- grown red carnations for stripes on a patriotic American Flag appearing on that company’s Rose Parade float.
