
In one of the funniest episodes of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Larry David becomes chauffeur for tennis star John McEnroe. Borrowing material from life experiences for episodes of the HBO program and “Seinfield”, David actually worked as a limousine driver and store clerk during his years as a stand-up comedian. Here’s another funny limousine driver story from author C. MacDonald:
While earning money for college, my father was a private chauffeur for a well-to-do woman in Pasadena. She insisted that he always wear a black hat and the lady always sat in the back seat.
Later in life I was mistaken for a chauffer while driving a carload of relatives around South Lake Tahoe. Perhaps my brown hat and coat, which just happened to match the car’s color, had something to do with it. Read this fun story!>
