On March 5, 2017 Los Angeles Metro hosts 626 Golden Streets, billed as the biggest Open Streets event ever to be held in North America. The public is invited to explore 17+ miles of car-free streets along Metro’s recently expanded Gold Line in parts of San Gabriel Valley northeast of Los Angeles (in the 626 area code.) However, the open streets movement has seen some fizzles, as well.
