While the majority of Californians live in metro regions within 50 miles of the coast, it’s important to get people excited about agriculture. One of the best ways to do so is to talk about food and events, such as Holtville Carrot Festival often held the first & second weeks in February. The “Carrot Capital of the Nation” hosts 10 days of fun with a parade, carnival, cook-offs, queen coronation and even a Carrot Run.
