LONG BEACH, CALIF.–Dog themed art exhibits usually feature paintings and portraits of pets. While the newest art exhibition may involve pet dogs, it is really different. Architecture for Dogs at Long Beach Museum of Art is a conceptual and collaborative effort of world-renowned architects and designers who examined the relationships between dogs and humans to design and build habitats for man’s best friend. Curated by the Tokyo-based designer Kenya Hara, the fascinating and fun exhibit launches its world museum debut in Long Beach from June 20-July 3, 2013. Before you go, see the designs and watch the dogs behind the inspiration interact with their architecture on 13 short videos (architecturefordogs.com). Blueprints are included for building  “architecture for dogs”.
