Authors and Storytellers Embrace the Word at Unique Events

Last weekend the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books drew authors from around the globe to promote, sell, celebrate, mix & mingle with their fans. This weekend the return of the Steinbeck Festival in Salinas and The Storytelling Festival in Ojai showcase literature in other ways.

The 32nd Annual Steinbeck Festival,  May 3-6, 2012, features a collaboration with The Woody Guthrie Centennial, a world-wide Celebration with the Grammy Museum & the Woody Guthrie Foundation. Location: Steinbeck Museum, One Main St., Salinas, CA. Cost: $5 – 150. steinbeck.org

The annual Storytelling Festival returns to the Libbey Bowl in Ojai after completion of a multi-million dollar renovation to the spectacular outdoor amphitheatre. Ojai Storytelling Festival takes place May 3-6, 2012.  Cost: $8 – up. ojaistoryfest.com
