Ojai Storytelling Festival has it all: entertaining,
nationally known storytellers, and the ideal location to sit out
under the oaks and hear stories that will move you, make you
laugh and remind you it is great to be alive. Normally held in
the Libbey Bowl, the venue received several million dollars of
renovation and is set to host the event in 2012.
Leading the event as emcee in 2011 was Dan Keding, storyteller
of international acclaim. A well-respected ballad singer, he
accompanies himself on guitar, banjo and spoons. This
combination of dynamic storytelling and powerful ballad singing
has made him a stage favorite in many countries.
Performances are geared for mixed audiences and though kids
are welcome, they should be at least 6 years old and must have a
ticket for admission. Prices for individual performances are
around $8-15. 2 day festival passes are sold for $150. Events
are held at Ojai Art Center and Chaparral Grounds in 2011.

What is a storytelling festival? It is an event where people go
to hear stories presented on stage. Traditional world folktales,
personal narratives, ghost stories, dark tales, comedy and
emotional stories all are presented by professional
storytellers. The audience has opportunity in various workshops
and sessions to learn about the art of storytelling.
Ojai's unique, historic setting attracts a variety of festivals
focused on the arts, lifestyle and music.
