BB Jazz Festival, 10 Years of Musical Bliss is Magic to Their Ears in Huntington Beach

Published on: September 06, 2012

If you need a little magic in your weekend, BB JAZZ Festival takes place on Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 10 a.m. to around 9-10 p.m. That’s a full day of music for around $45 lawn seating.  Buy tickets and get info at BBJAZZ.com

“Do you take this person to be your lawfully wedded spouse, to have and to hold, forever and ever?” When Betty and Corky Bennish said, “I do,” they heard bells ringing. But they also heard violins, bass guitar, keyboard, drums, and vocals, and they knew there was magic. They wanted to share that special sound so sweet, so they put together a jazz  festival in a 350-acre park in Huntington Beach back in 2002. The audience fell in love with the venue, the musical acts, and the quality production (stage setting, sound system, ease of parking, amenities, etc.)  and BB Jazz Festival quickly became one of the most popular Southern California music events held annually in September. This weekend BB Jazz and its founders celebrate their 10th anniversary with an incredible line up of acts!

The day long festival includes a serene park setting with lots of eucalyptus shade, and options for buying tickets ranging from “bring your own lawn chair” to assigned chair and table seating, complete with BBQ meals, wine, and VIP parking. For a full day of entertainment, guests help special causes and get to dance, sway and groove to the beat with top performing acts. This year the headliners include Najee, Angie Stone, Peabo Bryson, Walter Beasley, Anthony David, The Tony Rich Project and DJ Johnathan Phillips, who keeps the audience moving during intermissions.

Corky and Betty (shown in photo)  have both had life threatening illnessess and are excited to help others in a positive way.
