Capitola by the Sea is preparing for the big Labor Day Weekend Begonia Festival Sept. 4-7, 2015, which includes the most beautiful daytime bay parade in all of California. This year the theme, Beach Blanket Begonias, is reflected in entries with names: The Shark That Ate Babylon, Floating in Liquid, The Lifesavers and Hot Fun in the Summertime. This signature event of the Capitola community doesn’t come easy. Participants must actually help grow the gorgeous flowers for their floats in a huge begonia field dedicated to the parade, itself. This assures that there will be an ample supply of blossoms for the event. The weekend is like one beach party after another with so many things to see and do that you won’t slow down till it’s over. Only in California!
