Bed, Bath and Beyond! Races in California

As if there wasn’t enough to do with Spring Cleaning — airing out the sheets, dusting the furniture and cleaning the attic — Californians are taking out their beds and bathtubs this week and racing them. Now, that’s unique!
- BED: Cathedral City LGBT Days this weekend hosts a full line up of crazy events, including Bed Races on March 25, downtown at 11 a.m. It’s not the only bed race in California, however. Upcoming are the big bed races in Wrightwood and Corning.
- BATH: Three Rivers Bathtub Race, always held the last Saturday in March, is happening at Lake Kaweah. The charity fundraiser is quite a sight to behold — watching teams steer their cast iron “boats” in the lake.
- BEYOND: Wanna’ race an outhouse? That can be arranged. Outhouse races take place in Angels Camp, Conejo Valley and Big Bear Lake.
