Blooming Lotuses at Weekend Festivals
The weekend flower festivals include lotuses, Lemon lilies and lavender. The lotus flower is NOT a water lily, contrary to popular belief. If you don’t know that, go check it out at two Lotus Festivals this weekend. Returning after several years “off” is the Los Angeles Lotus Festival at Echo Park Lake July 12-13, 2014. The 34th Lotus Festival, complete with arts, crafts and food from host country the Philippines, is a colorful cultural event that includes lotus viewing. Also on the same weekend (July 12) in Santa Barbara’s Lotusland is LotusFest, a celebration of the spectacular flower in peak bloom during July. Guests can view these uniquely beautiful flowers while enjoying wine tasting from Santa Barbara County’s premier vintners, hors d’oeuvres, live music and more! Lotus flowers open during the day and close at night.
