Boat Concours
HOMEWOOD, CALIF. — At Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance this weekend (Aug. 7-8, 2015) your choice of best boat may not be the judge’s pick. Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation’s annual show instructs Concours judges to rate craft according to conditions they would have been in when they left the factory or boat builder. Described as “in as-delivered condition,” the criteria for judging can cause problems because boat dealers would often add accessories to improve usability or to entice buyers. After market items and accessories were available from the manufacturer and oftentimes added at the factory as “special orders”. Other accessories were produced by regional marine manufacturers or created by the boat dealers themselves. The most prestigious wooden boat gathering in North America invites you to see this year’s winners and marque class Vintage V12 Engines.
