Keeping up with Buena Park’s attractions is no easy task as seen in pictures: Medieval Times (current), Japanese Village and Deer Park, California Alligator Farm, and Knott’s Berry Farm (current).

This week fans of the macabre eagerly headed home for the go-to experience as Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park returned. Boasting more than 1,000 actors in the oldest, biggest theme park scare experience which has set the standard for others to follow, one beguiling creature you probably won’t catch a glimpse of at this year’s extravaganza is Elvira. The sexy 67-year old who still fills a tight-fitting, low-cut, cleavage-displaying black gown, hung up her theme park cape in 2017 to “focus on new projects.” She may be missed by her adoring fans but there’s enough excitement in the theme park capital to keep crowds coming. Good times never end!

Keeping up with Buena Park

What’s New!

  • HangTime, the first and only dive coaster in California, opened at Knott’s Berry Farm in May 18, 2018. On a scale of 1 to 10, the riders rank it as nearly a perfect 10.
  • A $25 million Butterfly Palladium is being built on the former Movieland Wax Museum property. The attraction includes a simulated Costa Rica rain forest surrounded by thousands of butterflies, a 45-foot-tall artificial mountain, and 3D movie theater. It’s expected opening in 2019.
  • Still getting rave reviews is Teatro Martini, an adult burlesque show offered some nights as an alternative to Pirate’s Dinner Adventure family-friendly experience.
  • The Source, a newly built, 400,000 square foot commercial mall with shopping, dining and entertainment, includes Times Square-esque LEDs  at the pedestrian entrance. Pets are not allowed.

What’s Gone?

  • Buena Park’s California Welcome Center is shutting down in the Fall 2018.
  • Read about the dozens of attractions that have all had their run in the city who’s name means Good Park.
