Published on: February 08, 2012

Fairs and Festivals aren’t just entertainment, they’re family traditions that bring joy to generations! In California, if you attend the upcoming Holtville Carrot Festival this weekend February 9 – 12, 2012 in Holtville, the Cloverdale Citrus Fair in Cloverdale February 17 – 20, or Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival in Indio February 17 – 26, then you’ll be experiencing a family tradition that you may not even be aware of. Butler Amusements provides the carnivals and midway entertainment to dozens of California fairs and fests as it has for over 40 years, bringing smiles to millions of attendees who enjoy the Butler family’s tradition.

Butler Amusements was started over 40 years ago and today, is the largest carnival company in the Western United States providing carnivals for over 120 different events each year with over 125 amusement rides. Butler Amusements, Inc. was founded in 1970 by George Butler, wife Evalyn, and son Earl, making its debut at a shopping center in Mountain View, California. That winter the Butlers signed their first fair contract at the Redwood Empire Fair in Ukiah.

Hat’s off to this great family business that became an empire of its own!
