The annual Civil War Battle at Calico Ghost Town is filled with surprises–costumes, foods, music and undisclosed battle strategies which you’ll have to see to find out who wins. The batle rages Feb. 15-17, 2014, at Calico Ghost Town in Yermo. Admission is $10, $6 for kids, free under age 5.

Where’s Yermo? Locted near Barstow half-way between L.A. and Las Vegas (two hours each direction,) the authentic mining town contains historic gold rush era buildings that house shops and restaurants. There’s a train ride guests can pay an additinonal fee to enjoy, plus festivals and entertainment throughout the seasons.

Weather? Temperatures are predicted to be above average during the weekend, peaking at 79 degrees on Saturday, then down to around 71 on Monday. Evenings dip into the 50s. Perfect!
