The popularity of the Camellia flower spans the state of California from north to south. You may not even notice their brilliant red, soft pink or subtle white blossoms but just visit the California State Capitol grounds in the spring and you can’t miss seeing Camellia petals when they fall like snow. Sacramento is called Camellia City with good reason! ‘
- JANUARY: ‘Tis the season for Camellia festivals, parades and shows starting this month with camellia shows & events in Redwood City, Arcadia and La Canada-Flintridge.
- FEBRUARY: Celebrate Camellias in San Marino, Temple City, Modesto, Santa Clara and Redwood City.
- MARCH: Flowers shows in Sacramento, Pleasant Hill and Modesto pay homage to Camellias.
