California Chili Cookoffs
What’s your favorite chili? Do you like a little fire and some kick? Maybe you like your chili with meat, no beans–or perhaps you want your chili topped with finely diced onions & cheese . It takes time to cook tasty chili, but a better way of sampling the bounty is by going to a chili cookoff where the public can fill up and even rate the quality of a variety of recipes.
This weekend several Main Street chili cookoffs take place in Tehachapi and Huntington Beach. If you don’t get out to one of the chili events, there are more chili tastings coming your way. Look for them in La Quinta, Del Mar, Big Bear Lake and Camarillo. And the biggest event of all, the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff at Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs, CA takes place on October 11, 2013.
