As Independence Day approaches, cities throughout California are preparing for their celebrations. Some will host parties, some will have community picnics and concerts and many will feature spectacular 4th of July Fireworks Show for you, your families and guests to see. Among the noteworthy events is Alameda 4th of July Parade (alamedaparade.com), billed as the longest Independence Day parade in the nation. It also is one of the largest with over 170 floats and 2,500 participants traveling an incredible 3.3 miles along the streets of the city. With plenty of room for everyone to come and see the fun, it has become the central activity of the Bay Area’s Fourth of July weekend. That’s REALLY something to be proud of!
