Got flowers? California has millions of daffodils, orchids, roses, tulips, wildflowers, poppies, plumeria and just about anything you can imagine. Spring to summer is the time when not only the flowers blossom, but the garden clubs and organizations host annual flower shows and festivals. Beautiful to look at, to smell, to touch, enjoy and sometimes even taste, flowers are one of nature’s unique and special gifts. If you love flowers or are slightly interested in getting to know them a little better, check out one of the 30 some flower shows and festivals we’ve found to date (and we just started looking this morning!)
At these events you can get ideas for your very own garden, buy plants and celebrate how lucky we are in California to have weather that treats flowers so well. Some shows are free while some charge a fee. Bigger convention shows focus on home & garden decor, while the home-spun garden clubs are more focused on the flowers, themselves. The scent of orange and lemon blossoms is in the air, and that means you are supposed to take time to smell the flowers!
