Pictured from last year is a casual, outdoor festival screening at Santa Monica’s “Cinema at the Edge Independent Film Festival” taking place April 9-12, 2015.

If you’re a fan of films, California has more festivals than any place on the planet, providing ample opportunities to watch unique, independent productions. 2015 is an exceptional year for California film festivals –on the roster you can see French, Italian, Greek, Asian, African-American, Jewish, Latino, Indian (from India) and Native Indian themed film festivals paying tribute to ethnicities and cultures. There are film festivals about environmental issues, fests about horror (scream fests,) classics, international films, student films and so much more. In March there are film festivals in San Jose, San Diego, San Francisco, Hollywood, Los Angeles and Sonoma just to name a few. Most of these events allow you to take it at your own pace and see just a single film. You can also buy a pass good for an entire day of movie watching or full access to multiple days of screenings and events.
