The wildly popular Riverdance, which said its final farewell to the U.S. in 2012, is going strong in UK, Switzerland, China, Germany and Japan. Michael Flatley, who wowed audiences with his footwork in that show, spun off other productions with his latest endeavor called Lord of the Dance – Dangerous Games. That spectacular stage production is not appearing in the U.S. in the future–it’s booked in Israel, UK and Europe through December 2015. So what’s the California crowd got to do to see a great Irish music and dance show this Christmas? Here are two Irish Christmas shows you can go to in 2014:

  • An Irish Christmas (anirishchristmastour.com) from the Los Angeles based Kerry Records was founded by an Irishman with the purpose of promoting Irish dance and culture. In addition to stage, video and sound productions, the company found Kerry Dance Troupe. Around half of the dancers in the annual Irish Christmas touring stage show are from Los Angeles. In 2014 the show appears nationally in many states and  in California cities ranging from Napa to Cerritos, Campbell to Modesto and Thousand Oaks to San Luis Obispo.
  • Irish Christmas in America (irishchristmasinamerica.com) is the hugely popular Irish Christmas show, now in its 10th season. It features top Irish music, song and dance in an engaging performance rich in history. The production is featured in cities from Berkeley to Torrance, Bishop to Santa Cruz and National City, too!
