From Top of the Mark in San Francisco to the top of Mammoth Mountain for dinner via a Snowcat ride, then south to San Diego’s Top of the Hyatt Bar, people  are sipping cocktails, wine and beer on top of the world. There’s hardly a bad view of the landscape in California! So here are a few of our favorites you may enjoy, too!

  • San Francisco’s Top of the Mark (19th floor) at InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel; Hilton Union Square’s City Scape Lounge (47th floor); View Lounge atop the San Francisco Marriott Marquis (39th floor).
  • Mammoth Lakes Parallax at McCoy Station 9,600 feet above sea level!
  • Top of the Hyatt Bar (40th floor) at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, the tallest building on the West Coast waterfront and top 100 biggest hotels in the world.
  • Palm Springs Peaks Restaurant on top of Mt. San Jacinto, 8,516 feet elevation.
  • Nepenthe at Big Sur is less than 1,000 feet above sea level but looking down at the Pacific Ocean feels like you’re on top of the world.
  • South Lake Tahoe Highlander Bar at Forest Buffet, Harrah’s.
  • Coming to Los Angeles:  71Above restaurant / bar on the 71st floor of U.S. Bank building, is set to open in the first quarter 2016. Views include San Fernando Valley and Santa Catalina Island.
