California Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America, a national nonprofit organization with an annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and throughout the U.S., includes more than 40 cemeteries in California. Last year market the one-millionth wreath since 1992 when Morrill Worcester and Worcester Wreath Co. began placing wreaths on graves of soldiers. In 2008, and each year since, Congress has issued a proclamation officially recognizing “Wreaths Across America Day” each December. This year, it will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013. When the wreath tradition began 5,000 wreaths were donated in 1992, and 20 years later 406,000 wreaths were donated in 2012! If you would like to learn more, see wreathsacrossamerica.org
