On Saturday, September 19, 2015 thousands of volunteers across California and the nation are setting aside their regular activities, rolling up their sleeves and planning on getting dirty during the annual Coastal Cleanup Day. Though one special day has been established as the official Cleanup Day, there are events taking place throughout September and October in practically every county in California. Approx. 1 million people have participated in the annual cleanups so far, collecting tons of debris and trash in waterways, lakes and along the coastal shores or the United States. Everyone’s invited to this trash party! No fancy clothes are required.
