Three Jazz Festival Weekend
“We’re clearing our heads before the festival weekend,” say event planners at Monterey Jazz Festival.
The granddaddy of California jazz fests, Monterey Jazz Festival, is happening this week Sept. 18-20, 2015 and the who’s who of the jazz world will be there. Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra featuring Wynton Marsalis performing the music of Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck and John Lewis, is one of the highlights of this all-star event now in its 58th year. Showcase artist Chick Corea performs with his group, Trilogy, and in a separate show with banjo player Bela Fleck. Dianne Reeves, Pete Escoveda and Chris Botti are a few of the countless talents performing during this superb jazz weekend.
Also this week you can catch great jazz at Vacaville Jazz Festival Sept. 18-20, and at Brea Dowtown Jazz Festival Sept. 18-20. For those who prefer other musical genres, there are more than a dozen music festivals throughout the state this upcoming week!
