Chinese New Year celebrations aren’t exactly like the U.S. holiday tradition of celebrating the New Year for just one day and night. This weekend the City of Temple City celebrates Lunar New Year Street Festival on Jan. 24-25, 2015. Held on Las Tunas Drive between Temple City Boulevard and Rowland Avenue, the event attracts thousands of local Asians, visitors, and non-Asians who love the costumes, foods, music and community atmosphere. Next week the Cho Hoa Flower Festival at Asian Garden Mall in Westminster begins on Jan. 30, and a day later on Jan. 31 in Pasadena the Lunar New Year Festival takes place at USC Pacific Asia Museum. In February the Chinese New Year celebrations go into full swing with dozens of Chinese New Year parades and festivals taking place across the state! Happy Year of the Ram (or Sheep).
