It may be months away but the High Sierra Music Festival (highsierramusic.com) recently announced major acts for the July 2-5, 2015 show, as well as discount tickets being sold on a limited basis. Among the news is word that String Cheese Incident is booked for 2 nights, 4 acts. Fans of the festival which enters its 25th year and celebrates its Silver Anniversary in 2015, are rapidly “grabbing” tickets. It’s been a very long wait–like 16 years to see a festival favorite. The String Cheese Incident first played High Sierra in 1996. The band’s members and long time fans see these performances at the festival from 1996 to 1999 as what propelled them on the West Coast and around the world. The festival has had a long journey from its early days in Bear Valley where snow was a problem, even during the summer! In 1998 Plumas County Fairgrounds in Quincy set the stage offering a great venue and what has turned into years of success and happiness. The family oriented festival offers activities, camping, food, and music throughout. Since the days of Woodstock there’s never been so much peace and love! It’s a feel-good event that people return to year after year.
