Although Cowboy Season never actually ends in California, the festivals ramp up into high gear for the public to catch cowboy fever so they can call out in enthusiasm, yippee ki-yay (an expression of joy once popular in cowboy culture.)
One of the biggest, best showcases of Cowboy culture in California is the annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival in April. The four day event includes concerts, tours, trick roping, and some cowboy yodeling and joking. If you’re thinking of attending, get your boots on and get booking as many of the tours and concerts tend to sell out!
