The Tenth Annual National Day of the Cowboy is Saturday, July 26, 2014. California was one of the first states to endorse and promote a national campaign establishing an annual day paying homage to the West’s great heritage. This year Amador County Fair (July 24-27, 2014) celebrates National Day of the Cowboy with a professional rodeo featuring skills developed by cowboys on the ranches and trail rides more than 100 years ago, including roping, riding bucking animals, and racing the fastest short-distance horses in the world. The stakes are high and there are plenty of risk-takers willing to climb on the back of a wild, bucking bronc!
