Digging Food, Loving the Farm in California

The so-called “Bad Boys of Brexit” are reportedly investing over $1 million for Cal-Exit to split up California. Unlike previous proposals splitting the state into North and South, this one places mostĀ the coast from Los Angeles to the Oregon border in West California. Orange County and San Diego are part of Eastern California — home to California’s fertile farm land. While technology giants like Google and Facebook get more media attention and contribute a large portion of taxes to the state budget, it’s primarily “East California” that feeds us. Living in OC, I would be part of the East, home to California’s rich farmland.
