California is the top producer and exporter of strawberries in the United States. If it's February along the Central Coast, don't be surprised to catch that intoxicating fragrance of berries.

ANDERSON: Happy Valley Strawberry Festival May 25-26, 2019

GARDEN GROVE: Garden Grove Strawberry Festival May 24-27, 2019

Always on Memorial Weekend, of all the strawberry festivals in California, Garden Grove produces the biggest celebration. Three days of carnival rides, a big Strawberry Festival Parade on Saturday, beauty queens and princesses, redheads, beautiful babies contests and great bands, booths, foods and community atmosphere assure you'll be berry happy that you went. Free Strawberry Shortcake for all on Friday night! Free.

Memorial Weekend

SANTA MARIA: Strawberry Festival April 26-28, 2019

Free strawberry tasting and desert eating contests, Cowboy Ken's trackless train, pony rides, a traditional carnival, including a full kiddie carnival, commercial displays and petting zoo. Held in Santa Maria, the heart of strawberry country in California, notice the smell of berries is in the air as you drive into town and over to the fairground. Food, fun and entertainment. Approx. cost: $8 General admission.

OXNARD: California Strawberry Festival May 18-19, 2019, 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Oxnard's California Strawberry Festival does not skimp on food, festivities and fun. The annual event pays homage to the city's rightful place among strawberry growers. There are food contests, dancing, music, vendors and endless entertainment. Cost: $12 general admission.

LOS ANGELES: Balboa Strawberry Festival
Likely date: June 9, 2019, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Encino - 17019 Ventura Blvd Los Angeles, CA 91316 . Featuring tons of strawberry themed food and drink, plus live music, dancing, rides and games for the whole family, and it's free admission.

ROSEVILLE: BerryFest Strawberry Festival May 11-12, 2019
Mother's Day Weekend

Raspberry Parade each day at 1 p.m.
Berry Fest celebrates a variety of berries but the main focus is on strawberries. The event features strawberry food vendors, entertainment, midways and fun for all age at the Placer County Fairgrounds. Celebrating the Harvest of Berries they say they sell & serve only local strawberries, certified organic and local from Placer County and some ordering counties such as Sacramento, El Dorado, Yuba, Santa Cruz and Sutter Counties.
