California Strawberry Festivals

California is the top producer and exporter of strawberries in the United States. If it's February along the Central Coast, don't be surprised to catch that intoxicating fragrance of berries.

Using less than 1% of California's farmland, strawberry farms produce the fourth most valuable crop in California.

WOODLAND: BerryFest Strawberry Festival returns May 9-10, 2026, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Yolo County Fairgrounds. Berry Festival is back on Mother's Day Weekend. Held at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland fans finds lots of strawberries and strawberry treats, the Little Miss Strawberry Pageant, the Strawberry Shortcake eating contest, an adult beverage garden, vendors, community stage performances, a car show, petting zoo and strolling entertainment. Florin Historical Society annual Strawberry Festival

Thousands attend this free, fun, family event, a tradition for over 25 years.  The Watsonville Strawberry Festival traces its roots to the Watsonville Strawberry Dessert Festival that was founded in 1994 to help downtown Watsonville recover economically from the Loma Prieta earthquake.
