While ticket sales and attendance at neighboring Knott’s Berry Farm has never threatened Disneyland’s bottom line, the theme park hasn’t traditionally been considered a serious contender for Halloween night-time entertainment, compared to the likes of Knott’s Scary Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood‘s Halloween Horror Nights.

In recent years Disneyland opened a portion of its theme park at night with a special ticketed Halloween Party for all ages (the other two theme park attractions aren’t geared for grade school kids.) In a game of catch up Disneyland has modified the event each year and tweaked it after learning what worked and what didn’t. The most visited California theme park attraction has become the Halloween family go-to featuring trick or treat stations and utilizing the entertainment division’s characters that include ghosts and ghouls.

In 2019 Disneyland isn’t holding its dedicated Halloween party in the most obvious place, the original theme park which features the Haunted Mansion. That park continues something called Halloween Time, which usually includes Halloween decor, seasonal foods and shows, etc.

Instead, the dedicated, ticketed Halloween event is moving next door to the smaller California Adventure theme park and calling it Oogie Boogie Bash. Read all about it!
