California has its beloved Irish Beach where you can make shamrocks in the sand but on St. Patrick’s Day weekend the action is in Dublin — California that is. The East Bay (San Francisco) city of Dublin celebrates St. Patrick’s Day in a big way with the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. Beginning on Friday, March 13, the luck of the Irish is with you when you attend the Green & White Gala, a production of the Dublin Sister City Association. You’ll see lots of kilts, plaids and some fiddling going on. Saturday is the Alameda County Firefighter’s Pancake Breakfast leading into the parade which starts at 9:30 a.m. It is the highlight for the community, showcasing warm Irish & California spirit plus more Irish music, attire and dance than you’ve ever known. To complete a weekend party the 5K Shamrock Fun Run takes place on Sunday morning.  If you go, you must wear something GREEN!
