Car Shows for the People

It’s hard to believe that the return of Redding’s Kool April Nites Apr. 18-26, 2015 is just around the bend. Pictured is the main event held on Saturday, April 25. This is possibly the longest California car event in terms of the number of days in which car lovers can participate with rod runs, car cruises and all sorts of fun. Before it comes along we always look forward to several other car shows that happen each year — same time, the same place. The Beachcruiser Meet in Huntington Beach is filled with classics and plenty of “wood”. With that total beach vibe you can’t help but wanna take a ride, be it in a woody or on a surfboard in that tantalizing Pacific Ocean. The show takes place on Main Street and the Huntington Beach Pier March 21 & 22.  Also one of our favorites happens this year on Sunday, April 19 across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm.  Fabulous Fords Forever celebrates more than 100 years of Ford legacy in a show that is all about Ford cars, ranging from vintage to race vehicles and decades displays. With sights and sounds (screams) of roller coasters dipping & diving at the theme park the show takes on added excitement. It feels like the air is supercharged.

These three car shows are a tiny sampling of California’s passion for automobiles. Marriages and relationships may fade, but the love of a car lasts forever.
