Prophetic “Easter is Cancelled” by The Darkness Band

In October 2019 British rock band, The Darkness, released a new album with title song, Easter is Cancelled. As SeeCalifornia.com began missing the annual Easter events and egg hunts that we spend well over a month researching and posting, we realized it was time to call it like it is: “Easter is cancelled.”

Easter is cancelled for churches not able to host services, tourist destinations telling guests to stay away, civic groups and municipalities offering egg hunts, flashlight egg hunts and underwater egg hunts as well as bunny breakfasts. Restaurants are prohibited from offering sit-down buffets for the special day and California’s world famous theme parks and zoos are all closed, too.

How could the Brit band have known or predicted this would happen five months before it came about April 2020? Most likely it was simply luck or coincidence that they called this one, but for those who marvel at the timing, it may seem prophetic (predictive or portentous of an omen or something momentous about to happen.)

Governments are forbidding events and gatherings of people, have closed parks, piers, restaurants, churches, businesses and in cases such as Los Angeles, are shutting off power and water to businesses refusing to close during the COVID-19 scare.

Closed this year is Carlsbad Flower Fields, annually offering an Easter Sunrise Service, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway sunrise trip to the top of San Jacinto mountains for meals and services, Easter Service atop San Francisco’s Mt. Davidson and sonrise celebrations in city parks, on piers and at beaches. Also closed is Yosemite National Park where the 130+ year old Yosemite Valley Chapel has traditionally offered services to a beautiful backdrop of Yosemite Falls.

Yes, Easter is Cancelled.
