When you talk about your summer, hopefully it’s been fair–as in county fair. California’s network of 76 fairgrounds are a way of life for some. They are hubs of economic activity, generating millions of dollars for the state and local economies. They provide $855 million in annual income for over 25,000 full-time workers and generate $2.8 billion, or $126 million in sales taxes. This week several fairs that began in July draw to a close on Sunday as the Orange County Fair finishes a month-long run, Sonoma County Fair begins packing up, and Ventura County Fair says ‘so long’ for another year.

Here’s a Fair Weekend in a Nutshell— with Plenty More to Come!
