Fantasy Gala Celebrates Globe in San Diego
San Diego’s Globe Theatre throws a party each summer, the must-attend event of the year. With Shakespeare Festival productions this season that include known actors such as Richard Thomas (The Waltons), Blair Underwood (Ironside, Sex in the City), and Kristen Connolly (House of Cards), the entertainment at the gala better be great–and it is! This year the black-tie event features Broadway veteran and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti (Gypsy, Into the Woods, NBC’s The Sound of Music Live!, The Good Wife), based on her smash hit New York cabaret, “In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention”. How much does it cost to attend? $50, $500, $5,000? The actual price of a ticket is $750 (regular seating) and $1,000 (VIP seating.) It includes a reception, performance, dinner, and dancing.
