TOMATOES: Fairfield Tomato Festival Aug.17-18, 2019 is ready to hit the streets of this Solano County city strategically situated nearly equal distance between San Francisco and Sacramento. The festival includes food, entertainment and shopping or browsing. tomato festivals

ZUCCHINIS: Hayward Zucchini Festival Aug.17-18 features a park atmosphere, beer and wine garden and old-fashioned fun with tons of zucchini foods ranging from deep-fried to breads.

BLACKBERRIES: Round Valley Blackberry Festival Aug.17-18 features music and pie eating.

APPLES: Gravenstein Apple Fair Aug.17-18 serves up plenty of musical entertainment and locally grown Gravenstein apples for purchase fresh and in dishes.

SALMON: Salmon Festival Aug.17 serves up the Yurok Tribe’s recipe in Klamath.

ICE CREAM: Sacramento Zoo Ice Cream Safari Aug.17 is a sweet fundraiser.

LATIN: San Diego’s Latin Food Fest Aug.16-17 is billed as America’s largest annual Hispanic culinary celebration, held in Embarcadero Marina Park North.

ASSYRIAN: Assyrian Food Festival Aug.17-18 in San Jose.
