While FREE Summer Concerts rage on in cities and towns throughout California during August and into September, there are some special freebies that are an annual hit. Among them are California’s National Parks free admission days and the annual Smithsonian free admission to museums in September. You can actually snag tickets for that event now.

NATIONAL PARKS FEE FREE DAYS

August 25, 2019 National Park Service Birthday
September 28, 2019 National Public Lands Day
November 11, 2019 Veterans Day

You can enter any national park free on these days but traffic does tend to be heavy in California’s iconic attractions such as Yosemite National Park, Lassen Volcanic National Park and Joshua Tree National Park. Plan accordingly by visiting their websites and seeing alerts before you go!

SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM FREE DAY

Smithsonian magazine’s 15th annual Museum Day tickets are now available for download for the Saturday, September 21, 2019 event.

The public is invited to see museums across the nation, opening their doors for free to visitors with a Museum Day ticket.

While not all of California’s hundreds of museums participate and some are free all the time, anyway, there are many that offer a value on this special day by letting you get a peak at no cost. Check it out for museums in your local area.
