There’s more to the Beaumont Cherry Festival (pictured) than just cherries. There are bands in the parade, carnival rides and excitement throughout the city.

California is home to approximately 600 Cherry growers farming over 26,000 acres, from 1-acre hobby farms to 500-acre production farms. Most are small farms ranging from 10 to 30 acres in size. This weekend you can celebrate cherries at the Beaumont Cherry Festival. In Bakersfield get a little nutty at the nut festival. And in Los Olivos you might want to taste what the city was named for, olives. Don’t stop there! In Camarillo there’s a Greek food festival, in Valley Center there’s  BBQ, Upper Lake is celebrating Ice Cream, Sacramento’s digging the “veg”, and Sunnyvale hosts a Farm Festival. If you’re trying to lose weight for bikini season, many of the food festivals include dancing– great exercise for wearing off calories! More food…>
