For those of you who live next door to someone with a Snap-on Tool business, or similar work, you may have glanced into the person’s garage and seen pinups on the wall. Snap-on is one of the companies that has printed pin-ups in the past, and may still do so. Cheesecake or beefcake is alive and well, as witnessed by two pin-up contests in California this week and next. It combines music, tattoos, cars, and stylish girls in leopard fashion or tiki tattoos, who vie for the pin-up beauty queen honors. Here are some tattoo festivals in California. Next weekend Ventura’s annual Road Revival Show (roadshowrevival.com), a Tribute to the Music of Johnny Cash, hosts its annual pin-up pageant.
