Don’t split hairs when you can spit seeds at the California Watermelon Festival this week at Hansen Dam Soccer Complex in Los Angeles. The 2019 event is slated to be the biggest to date, serving over 60,000 pounds of fresh-off-the-farm California watermelons, chilled and sliced to perfection!

Cat got your tongue on what to do this beautiful pre-4th of July weekend? How about heading for Cat Con at Pasadena Convention Center?

Cats aren’t your style? Then maybe you can talk like a pirate at Long Beach’s Pirate Festival.

Maybe you’re into tattoos. Then head to Tattoo Invitational in San Diego, also home to Smooth Jazz Festival at Embarcadero.

A seaside resort of shopping and dining pleasure hosts Riviera Village Summer Festival, always serving a refreshing breeze and free music in Redondo Beach. With carnival rides, food vendors, tons of art booths and entertainment, it’s really a blast.

From L.A. Live Block Party to Monterey Blues Fest, Kate Wolf Music Festival in Laytonville to Corona del Mar’s Baroque Music Fest, the music is anything but ordinary with world class musicians extraordinaire.

For patriotic pre-4th events, you can’t beat Port of L.A. Cars & Stripes Forever in San Pedro, or Oceanside’s Independence Day Parade.

There’s so much more!

Compton’s having a Color Run.

Placerville’s got a Lavender Festival.

San Francisco hosts the big Pride festival.

County fairs continue their summer runs with San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, Solano County Fair in Vallejo and Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton.

There’s Shakespeare in Parks, free summer concerts galore and a good time guaranteed for all!
